Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day! I am excited to tell you about another awesome, ethical company called Jessica Rey. This company is named after its founder and CEO, Jessica Rey. As some of you may know, she rose to fame as the White Power Ranger on Disney's Power Ranger's Wild Force. What you may not realize is that she is now a designer who started her own ethical company of vintage fashions inspired by Audrey Hepburn.

How cute is this little artwork card that came in my package?

I have always loved the classic, feminine style of Audrey Hepburn! I think she is an excellent fashion icon because she embodies timeless, elegant beauty. Jessica Rey has drawn her inspiration from Hepburn and has come out with a beautiful clothing, swimsuit and accessory line that looks like it came straight from Audrey Hepburn's closet. The best part of all is that all of the products she sells are ethically made. [Read in detail about the company's ethics here.] All of the material for her clothing is made in Italy and then cut and sewn in LA. The swimsuits are made from recycled fish nets and her tops, skirts and dress are made from cotton or tencel blends.

Miri style sunglasses in Brown Leopard

Some of my favorite pieces from Jessica's line are the cap sleeve tees, button-down A-line skirts and dresses. Even though they are a bit on the pricey side, they are definitely classic pieces you could wear forever. As I was shopping on her website, another item that caught my eye was her super cute vintage sunnies! I was specifically looking for some sunglasses that were 100% blocking UVA and UVB rays (side note - I have worn $5 cheap sunglasses my whole life and my mom just found out from her eye doctor that typically cheap sunglasses are not made with quality lenses and unless your sunglasses are 100% UVA and UVB blocking and on average more than $20, you can get cataracts...yikes!).

My ethical essentials as I'm running out the door! [Joyn bags wristlet and Jessica Rey sunnies]

I ordered the Miri in Brown Leopard sunglasses (they also come in beige). They are made with repurposed and reclaimed plastic and metal and of course, most important to me, they will 100% protect your eyes from ultra-violet A (UVA) and ultra-violet B (UVB) rays. They also have category 3 polycarbonate polarized lenses. This helps reduce the sun glare especially when you are near water.

My new sunglasses came with this cute case! The only down side is the frames are a bit flimsy. But, as long as you don't sit on them and open them carefully you should be fine! I honestly can tell a big difference in the quality of the lenses from what I am used to. They are priced at $40 and she also has some super cute vintage sunglasses priced at $30 that come in white and black. So basically they are awesome and if you are still wearing cheap $5 sunglasses like I have for 28 years, do your eyes a favor and get some high quality lenses! Let's not get cataracts together in style!
